This is the new Brief Psychiatry Service at HUMS, located on the 3rd floor of the oldest building of the hospital with an intervention area of approximately 2,100 m2.
The intervention was very complex as this floor shared facilities with the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors of the hospital, and there was no cessation of activity.
The project was very demanding due to the special conditions of the patients, as their psychological state tends to be aggressive towards other patients, medical staff, or even themselves, with the potential for self-harm.
For this reason, the design of the facilities was very special, minimizing accessible areas in zones exclusively for patient use.
The project was carried out using the BIM methodology, both in the design phase and during the construction process.”
