INGENIERÍA TORNÉ S.L. carried out, commissioned by the Aragonese Health Service, the project for the replacement of the air conditioning production system at the Fuentes Norte Health Center in Zaragoza.
The company also provided technical assistance for the construction and coordinated safety and health during the works.
Due to the deterioration of the production system over time (there were two air-condensed heat pumps with R-22), there were comfort and operational issues at the health center.
Ingeniería Torné drafted a project for the replacement of the production system, which later served as the base document for the tender of the works.
The proposed solution met the premises of energy efficiency, lower investment and operating costs, and the quality of maintenance and comfort for the center's users.
To achieve this, the installed power in the center was significantly reduced, and the production systems were divided. Condensing boilers operating in a cascade were used for heating, and a highly efficient air-cooled chiller was used for cooling.
In addition to that, freecooling was added to the center's air conditioners, and the regulation and control installation were improved to reduce the operating costs of the center.
The construction works were carried out by the company COFELY SUEZ and were completed in the year 2012.
The complexity of the project lay in organizing the replacement works without significantly affecting the functioning of the center. The distribution pipes, as well as the treatment elements, had to operate normally. For this reason, the cuts in the existing installation and the connection of the new one were carried out over a weekend.
